What we supply
We stock L&T (Lauritz Knudsen) starters for pumps and motors from 0.125 HP to 180 HP: MK1 and MK2 compact starters, MU / MB and ML heavy-duty starters, MU-Automatic DOL starters with single-phase preventer, MN / ML industrial starters in sheet-steel enclosures, MD Starter+ with i-ADSM / i-VDSM, MF1 starters and the MU-2P single-phase starter. Each range is available in DOL, semi-automatic star-delta (SASD) or fully automatic star-delta (FASD) versions, in every relay range and coil voltage listed.
For submersible pumps we supply L&T MU-G three-phase controllers with single-phase preventer, MU-G W controllers with built-in water level controller, and MR-G2 and MR-Gi single-phase controllers. From Siemens we supply RAJA+ agriculture starters in stainless-steel housing: 3TW7 DOL starters from 0.33 to 10 HP and 3TE7 automatic star-delta starters from 10 to 25 HP.

When should I use a DOL starter and when a star-delta starter?
A DOL (direct-on-line) starter connects the motor straight to the supply and suits smaller motors, typically up to about 7.5 to 10 HP. Larger motors are started in star-delta to reduce the starting current, which is easier on the supply and on the pump.
What is the difference between SASD and FASD starters?
In a semi-automatic star-delta (SASD) starter the operator changes over from star to delta by hand. A fully automatic star-delta (FASD) starter uses a timer to change over by itself after a set time.
How do I choose the relay range?
The overload relay range should cover the full-load current printed on the motor nameplate. For example, a 7.5 HP motor drawing about 11 A suits a 9–14 A relay. Send us a photo of the nameplate and we will confirm the starter.
Which starter or controller is best for a submersible pump?
For three-phase submersible pumps, controllers such as L&T MU-G add single-phase prevention, and some models include a water level controller. For single-phase pumps, use a single-phase controller such as L&T MR-G2 or MR-Gi with the correct start and run capacitors.
